A device for treating bone fractures, comprises an actuating mechanismremovably coupleable to a clamping mechanismincluding a clamp defining a cable receiving channel extending therethroughand a compression member coupled to theclamp for movement relative thereto, movement of the compression memberrelative to the clamp in a first direction moving theclamping mechanism into a clamping configuration in which at least a portionof the clamp is compressed into the channel to fix acable received therein relative to the clamping mechanism. The actuatingmechanism includes a first member and a second memberremovably engagable with a clamping mechanism so that, when engaged, relativemovement between the first and secondmembers causes relative movement between the clamp and the compression memberto move the clamping member between theclamping configuration and a release configuration, the actuating mechanismfurther including a tensioning mechanism.
