PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a bile salt adjuvant for animals capable of improving fat utilization efficiency in bodies and enhancing productivity of livestock and animal feed containing the same.SOLUTION: An additive comprises sodium stearoyl lactylate represented by the chemical formula 1 in the figure and helps bile salt in vivo to emulsify fat into smaller particles thereby improving an absorption rate of fat present in animal feed for livestock. Animal feed comprises the additive, 5 to 30 wt.% of crude protein, 2 to 20 wt.% of crude fat, 2 to 20 wt.% of crude fiber, 2 to 25 wt.% of crude ash, 0.1 to 10 wt.% of calcium, 0.1 to 5 wt.% of phosphorus, 0.1 to 5 wt.% of lysine and 3 to 50 wt.% of water.
