A device for detecting precancerous and early cancerous lesions of uterine cervix, the said device comprising of an illumination means which may be a halogen bulb a filtering unit that includes a blue filter (80 B filter) for providing optically white light a magnification unit that includes combination of interchangeable magnifying lenses a heat shield to monitor the heat emitted by the said illumination means a power unit comprising of rechargeable power supply an image capturing unit to obtain images of the cancerous lesions, wherein the image captured by the image capturing unit is utilized for further analysis.
