The invention relates to nicotinamide riboside or a derivative thereof for use in the treatment and/or prevention of liver or pancreatic cancer in a subject. Additionally, the invention relates to an in vitro method for designing a customized therapy for a subject diagnosed with a liver cancer or pancreatic cancer or suffering early signs of chronic liver damage or pancreatic intraepithelial lesions based on determining the level of DNA damage. Additionally the invention also relates to a method for diagnosing liver cancer and for predicting the risk of developing liver cancer in a subject suffering hepatitis. The invention also relates to a kit and their use in the methods of the invention.L'invention concerne un nicotinamide riboside ou un dérivé de celui-ci destiné à être utilisé dans le traitement et/ou la prévention d'un cancer du foie ou du pancréas chez un sujet. De plus, l'invention concerne une méthode in vitro permettant de concevoir une thérapie personnalisée pour un sujet diagnostiqué comme atteint d'un cancer du foie ou du pancréas ou souffrant de signes précoces de dommages hépatiques chroniques ou de lésions intra-épithéliales pancréatiques en se basant sur la détermination du niveau des dommages à l'ADN. En outre, l'invention concerne également une méthode permettant de diagnostiquer un cancer du foie et de prédire le risque de développer un cancer du foie chez un sujet souffrant d'hépatite.
