The invention relates to a method for filling a transport tray with a reduced risk of incorrect filling processes. According to the invention, a target filling of a plurality of receptacles (110) of the transport tray (100) is transmitted to a controller (500), and at least one filling pattern is generated on the basis of the target filling and a filling regimen and is displayed by means of a display device (400, 450). Pharmaceutical portions corresponding to the filling pattern are then transferred into the receptacles (110), and an image at least of the receptacles to be filled according to the target filling is generated by means of an optical capturing device (300). The actual filling is ascertained using the image and is compared with the target filling. If no target deviation is ascertained, the transport tray (100) is released in order to transfer the pharmaceutical portions to the machine tray.
