PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antiviral herpes simplex viral (HSV) agent effective for drug-tolerant herpes simplex virus and having new effect points with causing no drug-tolerant viruses to be newly bred.SOLUTION: There is provided an anti-HSV agent against drug-tolerant herpes simplex virus with an enzyme-treated product of a Bidens plant as an active ingredient, in view of the fact that: the enzyme-treated product of a Bidens plant has a plurality of effect points including inhibiting the adsorption of host cells and HSV and also inhibiting HSV proliferation in host cells after HSV infection, thus being highly effective against HSVs drug-tolerant strains.
