A biopsy marker applier is described and illustrated. The biopsy marker applier includes a cannula and at least one marker disposed within the cannula. A member is positioned on the cannula, such as sliding member disposed to slide along the cannula. The sliding member can be used to control or limit the depth of insertion of the biopsy marker applier in a biopsy device and/or a patient.
