Disclosed is a centrifugal pump for pumping a heat-sensitive fluid foodstuff, comprising a volute casing having an inlet port and an outlet port for the heat sensitive fluid, the volute casing enclosing an impeller comprising a disc operably associated with an end of a shaft, said disc having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface, said first surface facing the inlet of the casing and being provided with vanes, wherein the second surface of the disc of the impeller is exposed to a cooling medium. The centrifugal pump is suitable for reducing the built-up of fouling on the surface of the impeller disc facing the inlet of the casing and being provided with vanes.L'invention concerne une pompe centrifuge permettant de pomper un produit alimentaire fluide thermosensible, comprenant un carter en volute comportant un orifice d'entrée et un orifice de sortie destinés au fluide thermosensible, le carter en volute renfermant un impulseur comprenant un disque associé fonctionnellement à une extrémité d'un arbre, ledit disque ayant une première surface et une seconde surface opposée à la première surface, ladite première surface faisant face à l'entrée du carter et étant pourvue d'aubes, la seconde surface du disque de l'impulseur étant exposée à un milieu de refroidissement. La pompe centrifuge convient pour réduire l'accumulation d'encrassement à la surface du disque d'impulseur, faisant face à l'entrée du carter et pourvue d'aubes.
