PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article excellent in groove moldability, which is provided with a groove formed by compacting a sheet such as a surface sheet and an absorbent on a skin abutting surface side, and for which the floating or the like of the surface sheet in the groove is suppressed, and a method of manufacturing the same.
SOLUTION: The absorbent body 4 has a center high part raised on the skin abutting surface side in the width direction center area. The center high part comprises separately provided front center high part 41 and rear center high part 42, and an intermediate groove 8b formed by compacting the surface sheet 2 and the absorbent body 4 is extended in a width direction and formed between the front center high part 41 and the rear center high part 42. (1) A rear portion 41b positioned near the intermediate groove 8b of the front center high part 41 is compressed in the thickness direction, so that a raised height is low compared to other parts of the front center high part 41 and/or (2) a front portion 42a positioned near the intermediate groove 8b of the rear center high part 42 is compressed in the thickness direction, so that the raised height is low compared to other parts of the rear center high part 42.
