PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dosage form and a method of administering a central nervous system drug in a sustained and constantly ascending rate per unit time to provide an intended therapeutic effect and, at the same time, to decrease the development of undesired effects.SOLUTION: The oral dosage form comprises a hydrogel matrix containing a plurality of pills. The pills release methylphenidate or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in a sustained and increasing dose over time, to provide a substantially increasing plasma concentration for methylphenidate or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof during a period from after 2.5 hours to after 5.5 hours from administration. The substantially increasing plasma concentration contains the increase of plasma concentration in the continuous increase amount for 1 hour during the period.
