The invention concerns a paint roller comprising a paint roll and bracket (1) having at its one end (E1) a handle and on its other end (E2) an end portion (2) where the paint roll can be connected rotatably, wherein at the end portion (2) there is provided a snap element (7), wherein a counter-snap element (17), which corresponds to the snap element (7), is provided at a first end (E3) of a paint roll tube (3) of the paint roll, wherein spring means for producing an elastic force urging the snap element (7) and the counter-snap element (17) apart when moving the snap element (7) in direction of the counter-snap element (17) are provided, and wherein the spring means, the snap element (7) and the counter-snap element (17) act together such that the snap element (7) engages with the counter-snap element (17) when pushing the snap element (7) against the elastic force in direction of the counter-snap element (17), and the snap element (7) disengages from the counter-snap element (17) when subsequently pushing the snap element (7) against the elastic force in direction of the counter-snap element (17) so that the paint roll can be disconnected from the bracket (1).
