PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antiviral composition which can effectively deactivate a virus and its utilization.
SOLUTION: The antiviral composition contains a bamboo extract and this extract is obtained by the method including a step (a) of extracting a bamboo plant with an aqueous solvent to obtaine an extract, a step (b) of removing the aqueous solvent from the extract to obtain a dried substance, and a step (c) of dissolving the dried substance in water to obtain a water soluble fraction.
