PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high electric field sterilizer which can safely perform the sterilization treatment of various materials without changing the quality of the materials at a low price.SOLUTION: The high electric field sterilizer comprises as follows. A first metal plate to be a minus electrode and a second metal plate to be a plus electrode are disposed at a prescribed interval, a high electric field is generated in a passage formed between the first metal plate and the second metal plate by a pulse power unit connected to the first metal plate and the second metal plate, a material containing bacteria is made to pass through the passage in which the high electric field has been generated, a voltage difference is made in a cell membrane of the bacteria contained in the material to destroy the cell membrane, thereby the sterilization is performed in the high electric field sterilizer.
