The present invention relates to a multilayer structure for epidermal radionuclide therapy (brachytherapy) of a patient, comprising: an adhesive layer, proximal from the patients perspective, for applying the multilayer structure to the surface of the patients skin that is to be treated a flexible, transparent backing layer, arranged distally from the patients perspective on top of the adhesive layer and at least one emission layer containing a radionuclide and arranged on the backing layer, the composition and thickness of the adhesive layer and the backing layer being designed so that they are substantially transparent to ß and γ radiation. The multilayer structure of the invention is particularly suitable for radiotherapeutic treatment of basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Tumor-induced, geometrically challenging skin lesions of the type occurring at the outer edge of the auricle, in the eye area or across the nasolabial fold can be treated without difficulty by using the multilayer structure of the invention. A constant radiation dose is always present over the entire lesion, because all points of the radiation source are the same distance away from the skin surface to be treated.
