1. A composition for treating or preventing an upset gastrointestinal tract disorder comprising a therapeutically effective amount of at least one bile acid sequestrant. The composition of claim 1, wherein the at least one sequestrant of bile acids is selected from one or more of cholestyramine, cokelovelam, cokelovelam hydrochloride, ursodeoxycholic acid, colestipol, sevelamer, dialkylaminoalkyl derivatives of crosslinked dextran and N- (cycloalkyl) alkylamines. 3. The composition of claim 1, further comprising a therapeutically effective amount of at least one proton pump inhibitor. The composition of claim 3, wherein the at least one proton pump inhibitor is selected from omeprazole, esomeprazole, lansoprazole, pantoprazole, rabeprazole, tenatoprazole, leminoprazole, dontoprazole and rancoprazole. The composition of claim 1, further comprising a therapeutically effective amount of at least one agent selected from an antacid, a histamine H receptor antagonist, a γ-aminobutyric acid-B agonist (GABA-B), a prodrug form of a GABA-B agonist, and a protease inhibitor, optionally formulated in combination with at least one bile acid sequestrant. The composition of claim 5, wherein the antacid is selected from one or more of calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, calcium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide; a histamine H receptor antagonist is selected from one or more of cimetidine, famotidine, nizatidine and ranitidine; GABA-B agonist is R-baclofen; pro-drug form of ago1.
