The spiral conveyor assembly has interlocking spiral coils (4,4'), where the surfaces of the interlocking spiral coils are shaped and aligned on top of each other such that they stay in contact with each other along a continuous contact line (10). The contact line extends in the longitudinal direction of the two spiral conveyors. The contact line is composed of multiple aligned line sections (12,12',14,14',16,16',18,18'). Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a foodstuff processing device with a conveying unit; and (2) a filling machine with a filling funnel.
