Modern health care system aims at absolute independence from external factors such that, the work can be according to the need of the subject / patient. Patients, especially those suffering from chronic ailments need timely dosage of drugs to maintain physiological conditions. Hence, proper infusions of these drugs become extremely important. The present invention relates to a control system with an automated intravenous drug and fluid infusion system. There is a pumping channel that operates for intravenous infusion of drugs and fluids. The system is controlled by the microcontroller that on receiving signals from the DTMF decoder analyses the input and acts according to the instructions programmed. Keeping this in mind, I propose to design a totally automated infusion system which will be capable of delivering the drug to the patient at the time when it is needed. The system when developed will be able to inject drug to the patient at regular intervals of time without personal monitoring from the staff. In this model I have designed an infusion system controlled by DTMF signals such that the drug to the patient is delivered wirelessly. The condition of the patient is noted by the doctor and the relevant instructions are given to the system using a mobile phone. The effect of GSM phones on the infusion pumps is negligible and at safe distance they do not cause harm to the patients either. The main aim of developing wireless intravenous multidrug delivery system is when the doctor receives the status of the patient periodically and the doctor can himself control the infusion settings for a patient by using his mobile phone to infuse into the patient, based on the patient conditions like glucose concentration, blood pressure and some other select parameters.[IN-CHE-2010-03150A]
