The invention relates to a method of assisting a user who is able to drive a motor vehicle and whose ability to drive said vehicle is uncertain with regard to his blood alcohol level, the method comprising a step (E1) for determining the information on the BAC of the vehicle user before the user arrives at his vehicle, a step of sending the vehicle's position to a remote service if the information on the rate of blood alcohol content makes it possible to estimate that the blood alcohol level of the user is higher than a predetermined threshold, and a step (E4) of sending by the remote service of a driver able to drive the vehicle to said position of the vehicle when the user has arrived at his vehicle.
