A method and apparatus (10), such as a shower head, for distributing fluid is disclosed. Fluid is received in an opening (18) and distributed via first conduit (84) to an outlet (78, 80, 82) of a first discharge element or nozzle (14). At least some of the fluid received in the opening (18) can be selectively distributed via a second conduit (94) to an outlet (98, 100, 102, 104) of a second discharge element (16) in response to coupling and decoupling of the second discharge element (16) from the apparatus. When the second discharge element (16) is coupled, some of the fluid from the first conduit (84) is distributed into the second conduit (94) and exits via the outlet (98, 100, 102, 104). The second discharge element (16) may be a shower head while the first discharge element (16) is suitable for an additional function such as the cleaning of an internal orifice.
