The filing compartment system (1, 40, 41) has a recording system (4, 20, 22), which can be activated when an X-ray image plate (3) is filed in one of the compartments (2) and/or when an X-ray image plate (3) is removed from one of the compartments (2), and which thus generates an activation signal. A timer device (8) is present which, in response to the activation signal, outputs a filing time and/or a removal time for the individual compartments (2) as soon as the recording system (4, 20, 22) is activated, and, upon initiation of the recording system, the filing time and/or the removal time, and also a compartment identification of the respective compartment, can be recorded by means of a data memory (9).
