An applicator tip of a dental apparatus for applying a portion of a light curable dental filling material to a dental surface, which comprises a body that has an applicator outlet and a hollow interior channel which communicates with the applicator outlet and defines an inlet connector oppossite the applicator inlet. The inlet connector is connectable to a source of the light curable dental filling via a further connector of the source of the light curable dental filling material and establishes communication from the source of the ligth curable dental filling material into the hollow interior channel. The applicator outlet is adapted to apply the portion of the light curable dental filling material to the dental surface, The hollow interior channel comprises an inner wall covering extending from the inlet connector to the applicator outlet. The body further comprises an external modelling part for modelling the portion of the light curable dental filling material. The body is pervious to light passing through the body from a source of light for irradiating and curing the portion of the light curable dental filling material, and the covering is impervious to the light for shlelding a remainder of the light curable dental filling material, present within the covering from the light to prevent the curing of the remainder of the light curable dental filling An applicator tool for use with the applicator tip is also provided.
