One embodiment of the present invention relates to a cover member for a funeral urn to store remains of the deceased and a funeral urn including the same. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the funeral urn comprises a body portion in which remains of the deceased is accommodated and a cover member coupled to the body portion. The cover member comprises: a lighting portion including a light emitting element and a lens； a controller； and a power portion electrically connected with the light emitting element. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the light emitting element, which emits light in an ultraviolet wavelength range to the funeral urn, is arranged in the funeral urn, in which the remains of the deceased is stored, thereby being able to prevent decomposition and contamination of the remains that may occur in the funeral urn by the light emitting element. Thus, the remains of the deceased can be stored in the funeral urn for a long time.
