A soft analyte sensor is provided. The soft analyte sensor may be a soft continuous analyte sensor that facilitates continuous monitoring of analytes such as blood glucose. A soft analyte sensor may have a relatively flexible conductive or non-conductive core, may be formed from a plurality of substantially planar layers, or may be produced from an in vitro free standing sensor.
