PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transplanter by compactly installing a seedling-conveying clutch mechanism in a simple constitution on the back side of a seedling stand and stably stopping a mat seedling when a driven wheel is moved along the seedling stand to loosen a seedling-conveying belt. SOLUTION: The transplanter is installed with a seedling stand 4 for laying mat seedlings for several rows in lateral direction and conveying each mat seedling by a seedling-conveying belt 6 spun between a driving wheel 8 and the driven wheel 10, and a planting device 3d for planting the mat seedling by scraping each mat seedling conveyed downward below the seedling stand 4. In the transplanter a planting work for all rows by operating all seedling convey belts 6 and planting devices 3d and a planting work for residual rows by stopping suitable number of the seedling convey belts 6 and the planting devices 3d are brought to be interchangeable. The transplanter is further installed with the seedling-conveying clutch mechanism 5 for stopping the driven wheel 10 stretching the seedling-conveying belt 6 by being moved to a direction of loosening the belt and a braking member 20 for braking the seedling- conveying belt 6 by contacting it to the belt in stopping seedling conveyance of the seedling-conveying clutch mechanism 5.
