Provided is a method for manufacturing a composition for inhibiting or preventing cancer stem cells by lactobacillus fermenting, extracting aronia, followed by fractionating and/or refining the same. The composition manufactured by a manufacturing method of the present invention is confirmed to inhibit mammosphere formation in breast cancer cells, and thus catechole contained in the composition inhibits the expression of at least one self-renewal gene selected from Nanog, Sox2, and Oct4, which are known to be characteristically expressed in breast cancer stem cells, and also catechole inhibits a STAT3 signaling pathway and IL-6 secretion which are known to be involved in mammosphere formation of breast cancer stem cells. Therefore, the composition manufactured by the manufacturing method of the present invention can be used for treating cancers such as breast cancer.본 발명의 아로니아를 유산균 발효시키고 추출한 후 분획 또는/및 정제하여 암 줄기세포를 억제 또는 예방하는 조성물을 제조하는 방법을 제공한다. 본 발명의 제조방법으로 제조된 조성물이 유방암 세포에서 맘모스페어 형성을 억제하는 것을 확인하였으며, 상기 조성물에 포함된 카테콜이 유방암 줄기세포에서 특징적으로 발현하는 것으로 알려진 Nanog, Sox2 및 Oct4로 선택되는 하나 이상의 자가 재생(self-renewal) 유전자의 발현을 억제하고, 유방암 줄기세포의 맘모스페어 형성에 관여하는 것으로 알려진 STAT3 신호전달 경로와 IL-6의 분비를 억제하는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 본 발명의 제조방법으로 제조한 조성물은 유방암 등의 암의 치료에 활용이 가능하다.
