PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic imaging optical system capable of reducing its dimension in the direction of an optical axis while improving optical axis performance, and an endoscope with the same.SOLUTION: A stereoscopic imaging optical system comprises, in order from an object side: a pair of negative lens groups 10 whose optical axes are arranged with a space between them a pair of first positive lens groups 20 on which light transmitted through the negative lens groups 10 is made incident an optical axis deflecting section 30 to which light transmitted through the first positive lens groups 20 is made incident, then, deflected, and emitted and a second positive lens group 40 to which light deflected and emitted by the optical axis deflecting section 30 is made incident. The optical axis deflecting section 30 includes a prism optical system 31. The prism optical system 31 has at least one reflecting face 31R1 or 31R2.
