A method for controlling generation of biologically desirable voids in a composition placed in proximity to bone or other tissue in a patient by selecting at least one water-soluble inorganic material having a desired particle size and solubility, and mixing the water-soluble inorganic material with at least one poorly-water-soluble or biodegradable matrix material. The matrix material, after it is mixed with the water-soluble inorganic material, is placed into the patient in proximity to tissue so that the water-soluble inorganic material dissolves at a predetermined rate to generate biologically desirable voids in the matrix material into which bone or other tissue can then grow.La présente invention concerne une composition et un procédé destinés à réguler la production de vides biologiquement désirables dans une composition appropriée pour être placée à proximité d'un os ou d'un autre tissu chez un patient. Ceci s'effectue par la sélection d'au moins un matériau inorganique hydrosoluble qui présente une taille de particule et une solubilité désirées, et par le mélange dudit matériau inorganique hydrosoluble et d'au moins un matériau de matrice peu hydrosoluble ou biodégradable. Suite au mélange du matériau matrice et du matériau inorganique hydrosoluble, et suite à la mise en place de la composition dans le patient à proximité du tissu, le matériau inorganique hydrosoluble se dissout à un rythme prédéterminé, pour produire des vides biologiquement désirables dans le matériau matrice dans lequel l'os ou l'autre tissu peut alors se développer.
