A cradle configured for life supporting a premature neonate during magnetic resonance imaging procedure. The cradle includes a receptacle configured for receiving the neonate and inserting into a MRI apparatus. The receptacle is magnetically transparent. The cradle includes a unit of neonate life support remotely connected to the receptacle such that a magnetic field of the MRI apparatus is not disturbed by the life support unit.
