PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion-delaying incense stick body for smoldering, which does not go out during smoldering, enables easy and secure control of combustion speed and is excellent in ignition and combustion sustainability, and a combustion-delaying method thereof.SOLUTION: The combustion-delaying incense stick contains, in the incense stick body, 1-20 mass% substance other than plant fibers, which has a boiling point or a pyrolysis temperature range totally or partially falling within the range of 330-580°C under 760 mmHg in air atmosphere, thereby delaying its combustion speed during smoldering, due to latent heat of vaporization, pyrolysis or vaporization accompanying pyrolysis of the substance. The combustion speed can be controlled depending on proportion of the substance contained. For example, the combustion speed of the incense stick that contains such the substance can be controlled to 57-92% of that of an incense stick having the same cross section but does not contain such the substance.COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT【課題】燻焼時の立消えを生ずることなく、簡単に且つ確実に燃焼速度の制御が行え、着火性、燃焼持続性に優れた燃焼遅延性の燻煙用線香体及びその燃焼遅延化方法を提供する。【解決手段】燃焼遅延性の燻煙用線香は、線香体中に、沸点又は熱分解域の全域若しくは一部領域が760mmHg、空気雰囲気で330~580℃の範囲内にある植物繊維以外の物質が1~20質量%の割合で含有されていることにより、その燻焼の際に、その物質の気化潜熱、熱分解潜熱又は熱分解に伴う気化潜熱により燃焼速度を遅くすることができる。また、このような物質の含有割合に応じた燃焼速度に制御することができ、例えば、同一断面積の線香体中に、沸点又は熱分解域の全域若しくは一部領域が760mmHg、空気雰囲気で330~580℃の範囲内にある植物繊維以外の物質が含まれていない線香の燃焼速度に比べ、57~92%の範囲にあるように制御できる。【選択図】なし
