A control unit for an aerosol generating device includes: a sensor thatoutputs avalue related to a temperature of a power source capable of being charged anddischarged to aload for atomizing an aerosol source； and a controller configured to executeone or morefunctions of operating the power source when an output value of the sensor iswithin a firstrange having at least one of a first upper limit and a first lower limit. Thefirst upper limitor the first lower limit is smaller or larger than a second upper limit or asecond lower limit ofa second range that is a range of a value related to a temperature at whichthe one or morefunctions can be executed, a range of a value related to a temperature atwhich deteriorationof the power source is suppressed, a range of a value related to a temperatureat which thepower source deteriorates due only to a factor that is the same as normaltemperature, or arange corresponding to an operating temperature of the power source.
