PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a therapeutic method using IL-6 antagonist such as an antibody or an antibody fragment which specifically binds to IL-6 for preventing diseases in patients in need of treatment or improving a survival rate and a quality of life.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a method for preventing graft versus host disease (GVHD) or various leukaemia relapses in patients to undergo transplantation or patients with transplantation of cells, a tissue, or an organ using an anti-IL-6 antibody or an antigen binding fragment thereof. The invention also relates to uses of an anti-IL-6 antibody for enhancing a cytotoxic inhibitory effect, an apoptotic effect, and anti-metastatic or anti-invasive effect of a chemotherapy and radiotherapy to cancer which represents a resistance against chemotherapeutic agents and radiation, such as a cancer inhibitor, particularly an EGFR inhibitor, or the antigen binding fragment thereof.【課題】処置を必要とする患者において疾病を予防するため、又は生存率や生活の質を向上させるための、ＩＬ－６に対して特異的に結合する抗体又は抗体フラグメントなどのＩＬ－６アンタゴニストを用いる治療方法。【解決手段】抗ＩＬ－６抗体又はその抗原結合断片を用いる細胞、組織、又は器官の移植を受ける予定であるか、又は受けている対象において、移植片対宿主病（ＧＶＨＤ）又は種々の白血病再発を防止又は予防する方法。更に、癌、特にＥＧＦＲ阻害剤などの化学療法剤や放射線に対する抵抗性を示すようになった癌に対する、化学療法及び放射線療法の細胞毒性抑制効果、アポトーシス効果、抗転移性又は抗侵襲効果を増強するための抗ＩＬ－６抗体又はその抗原結合断片の使用。【選択図】なし
