The present invention relates to a label fixation. In order to provide an improved labelling of medical instruments, a label fixation device (10) is provided. The label fixation device comprises a first reception (12) for temporarily receiving a longitudinal body portion of a medical instrument, and a second reception (14) for arranging a label to be fixed to a medical instrument. The first reception and the second reception are movable (16) in relation to each other for providing an abutting contact of a received longitudinal body portion of the medical instrument in the first reception and an arranged label in the second reception. The first reception provides a holding position for a medical instrument, in which holding position the longitudinal body portion is rotatably held around a longitudinal axis of the longitudinal body portion. The second reception provides a supply position for a label, in which supply position a front edge of the label is arranged aligned with the longitudinal axis of the longitudinal body portion.
