PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the enhancement of the restoration properties of a leading end part from U-shaped bending in a medical guide wire and the prevention of the development of the U-shaped bending of the guide wire in use of the guide wire.
SOLUTION: The guide wire 1 includes an inside flexible pipe body 5 surrounding the leading end portion 22 of a core shaft 2 inside an outside flexible pipe body 4 and the inside flexible pipe body 5 is arranged so that the tip 51 thereof is positioned so as to be spaced apart from the tip of the core shaft 2 to the rear end thereof while the tip 51 of the inside flexible pipe body 5 is joined to the core shaft 2 at a first joining portion 6. Since rigidity becomes high at the first joining portion 6 by this constitution, even if the guide wire 1 is bent into a U-shape in a lumen such as a blood vessel or the like in use of the guide wire 1, the bending of the guide wire 1 becomes hard to develop by the presence of the first joining portion 6 having high rigidity.
