A cell preparation comprising a pool and an enriched mononuclear apoptotic cell population and a method of preparing the cell preparation is described. This pooled mononuclear apoptotic cell preparation can be obtained from a pooled allogeneic leukocyte fraction pooled before or after the induction of apoptosis. Furthermore, described herein are methods of using these pooled apoptotic cell preparations to treat immune diseases, inflammatory diseases, autoimmune diseases, or infertility in a subject.
