Immunogenic composition comprises a capsular polysaccharide of type 8 and type 5 of Staphylococcus aureus strain overproducing type 8 and/or type 5, respectively. Independent claims are included for: (1) a composition comprising a conjugate containing the capsular polysaccharide of type 5 or type 8 overproducing strain of Staphylococcus aureus, bound to a carrying protein (2) a conjugate comprising the capsular polysaccharide of type 5 or type 8 overproducing strain of Staphylococcus aureus bound to a carrying protein (3) a type 5 capsular polysaccharide isolated/purified from Staphylococcus aureus CYL1892 strain and (4) a process of producing a type 5 capsular polysaccharide comprising culturing of an overproducing strain of Staphylococcus aureus, inactivation of the culture and collection of the type 5 capsular polysaccharide from supernatant.
