PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new drug capable of suppressing nerve (glial) cell death and a food composition for suppressing nerve (glial) cell death. The nerve (glia) cell death inhibitor of the present invention is characterized by containing bisphenol P. The present inventor has found that when bisphenol P is intraperitoneally administered to rats, the action of nerve (glial) cell death induced by domoic acid is suppressed. Further, since the food composition of the present invention contains bisphenol P, it can exert an effect of suppressing nerve (glial) cell death.
