Disclosed is the use of collagenase for the preparation of a medicament for treating or reducing edematous fibrosclerotic panniculopathy (EFP) in a patient, wherein said medicament is formulated for administration of at least one subdermal in injection of recombinant collagenase or collagenase purified from Clostridium histolyticum comprising collagenase I and collagenase II to an area affected by EFP, wherein the dose of collagenase per injection is between about 5 to about 200 ABC units.
