The present invention is a catheter, which is formed from a flexible material and has two basic shapes. The first is the shape that is provided to the surgeon when the catheter is inserted into the patient's lumen, and is an initial shape similar to a tension coil spring, and the second is longer than the initial shape. The outer diameter is significantly smaller and is a substantially linear final shape. As the catheter is withdrawn from the proximal end for removal from the patient's lumen, the catheter is deformable from an initial shape to a final shape.
