PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical forceps which limits force transmitted to an end effector from a drive handle mechanism and prevents damage on a tissue.SOLUTION: A drive handle mechanism comprises an actuator, a drive shaft 316, and a spring assembly 312 for transmitting motion of the actuator to the drive shaft 316, in which the spring assembly controls an end effector. The spring assembly 312 is arranged to transmit motion of the actuator to the drive shaft 316 and the end effector following to an operation of the actuator by a user. At the same time, the spring assembly 312 is arranged to be compressed to absorb a part of force which is applied by the user.
