The cover has a tissue sample entryport (42) formed therein and configured direct severed tissue samples andfluid aspirated therethrough into a respective tissue storagecompartment of the tissue tray positioned under the tissue sample entry port,wherein the base includes a raised surface (202) underlyingat least a portion of the tissue tray circumferentially spaced apart from thetissue sample entry port when the cover is attached to the base.
