PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the insufficient and excessive supply of heat energy to tissue in thermal tissue operation.SOLUTION: The jaw heating element of the handpiece 12 with which a thermal tissue operation system 10 is provided is consecutively tested by applying a testing heater power signal to the jaw heating element betweentimes of individual thermal tissue operations. The voltage and electric current of the jaw heating element are detected, so that the resistance of the jaw heating element is calculated.
