Apparatus (1) for cleaning an elongated, floating element (9) which includes at least one tubular floating body (9), the apparatus (1) including : - a frame (3)； - at least one means (2) for attaching the frame (3) to a vessel (10)； - at least one primary supporting roller (5) attached to the frame (3), the supporting roller (5) being formed with a primary supporting surface (51), and the primary supporting roller (5) being provided with a drive (55)； - at least one upward washing device (8), the washing device (8) being positioned to one side of the primary supporting roller (5), and a portion of the washing device (8) being positioned lower than the uppermost portion of the primary supporting surface (51), and the frame (3) being arranged in a vertically movable manner on the vessel (10). A method for the use of the apparatus (1) is described as well.
