PURPOSE: A pheophorbide-alpha conjugate is provided to suppress the survival of various cancer cells and to show fluorescence when the conjugate flows into the cells and is decomposed.CONSTITUTION: A pheophorbide-alpha conjugate or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, solvate, or hydrate thereof contains compounds of chemical formulas 1 and 2 or 1 and 3. The conjugate additionally contains a chemical linker which connects the compounds of chemical formulas 1 and 2 or 1 and 3. The chemical linker is a hydroxycinnamoyl group or an aminobenzyl oxycarbonyl group.
