A patient monitoring system comprises a probe module (10) to acquire data of a patient to be monitored. An evaluation module (20) to determines a patient's state of anxiety on the basis of the acquired data. An indicator module (30) to feedback the determined state of anxiety to attending staff. Thus, the staff is enabled on the basis of the feedback from the patient monitoring system to re-assure patients where that is needed and beneficiary.La présente invention concerne un système de surveillance de patients comprenant un module sonde (10) servant à acquérir des données en provenance d'un patient devant être surveillé ； un module d'évaluation (20) destiné à déterminer l'état d'anxiété du patient sur la base des données acquises ； et un module indicateur (30) destiné à informer en retour les médecins titulaires sur l'état d'anxiété déterminé. Ainsi, les médecins sont capables, grâce au retour d'information en provenance du système de surveillance des patients, de rassurer les patients chaque fois que nécessaire et si cela peut s'avérer bénéfique pour eux.
