An apparatus is provided that is operable in different modes to perform various functions for treating a body lumen. The apparatus includes an outer tubular member (120) having proximal and distal ends and a lumen extending between these ends, an expandable balloon (150) secured to the outer member distal end, the balloon having a distal end comprising an outlet (158), the balloon having an interior communicating with the lumen and the balloon outlet. The apparatus also comprises an inner member (130) slidably disposed within the lumen such that an annular lumen is defined between the outer and inner members, the inner member comprising a proximal end adjacent the outer member proximal end and a distal end (134) extending from the balloon outlet. A sealing member (138) is provided on the inner member distal end. The inner member is movable between a first position, wherein the sealing member is spaced from the balloon outlet such that fluid introduced through the lumen passes through the balloon interior and out the balloon outlet, and a second position, wherein the sealing member substantially seals the balloon outlet such that fluid introduced through the lumen enters the balloon interior to expand the balloon. The apparatus also includes a helical member (170) extending helically around the inner member within the balloon interior, the inner member being movable to a third position where the helical member is caused to expand radially outwardly, thereby expanding the balloon to an expanded helical shape.
