PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article from which an absorptive polymer does not easily fall off and which is excellent in fitness to the skin of a wearer and hardly generates leakage, and its manufacturing method.
SOLUTION: In the absorbent article 10, an absorbent body 1 is configured including a vertically long absorptive core 4 containing pulp fibers and the absorptive polymer and a coating sheet 5 coating the absorptive core 4. Both end edge parts 1a and 1b in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent body 1 are thin compared to the other part of the absorbent body 1, and four corners 1ab and 1bb in the plane view of the absorptive core 4 are constricted inwards. Both end edge parts 4a and 4b in the longitudinal direction of the absorptive core 4 match with both end edge parts 5a and 5b in the longitudinal direction of the coating sheet 5, and the end edge part 4a (4b) in the longitudinal direction of the absorptive core 4 and the end edge part 5a (5b) in the longitudinal direction of the coating sheet 5 are in close contact.
