The body position shifter is a girdle-like sheet having no components that would hinder slipping of the body position shifter between a patient and a bed mattress, allowing the body position shifter to be easily slipped beneath the body of a patient already recumbent on the mattress. The need for prior placement of the body position shifter on the mattress is obviated thereby, allowing it to be slipped beneath the body of the patient to perform a shift of the body position of the patient, whenever the patient requires a diaper change or treatment. In this way, the present invention obviates the need for prior placement of the body position shifter on the mattress, allowing it to be slipped beneath the body of the patient to perform a shift of the body position of the patient, whenever the patient requires a diaper change or treatment.
