Disclosed herein is a method for controlling internal endoparasites by orally or parenterally administering to a non-human mammal or bird an effective amount of an endoparasite control agent comprising a carboxamide (i.e. benzamide) derivative represented by the general formula (I), wherein the variables are as defined in the specification. The compositions are suited to administration to humans and domestic animals to control protozoa and helminths.
