The reel holder further has at least one hook extending from the frame and configured to attach the fencing reel holder to an elongate member. A securing mechanism is configured to be moveable relative to the hook between an engaged position and an open position. In the engaged position the securing mechanism forms a barrier over at least a portion of an open end of the hook to retain a portion of the length of the elongate member within the hook, and in the open position the elongate member is permitted to pass through the open end of the hook.
