PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To noninvasively obtain information required for generating a respiratory waveform of a subject over a long period of time and to measure/record it as needed.SOLUTION: A method for obtaining respiratory waveform information of a subject and a system for executing the method are provided. The method includes: a step of measuring, with time, an air pressure difference between an air pressure inside a housing chamber that houses a subject of which the physiological functions are to be measured over a long period of time and an air pressure on the outside and a step of generating respiratory waveform information of the subject on the basis of the measured air pressure difference. The housing chamber includes a suction unit for making a prescribed amount of air continuously flow from the outside of the housing chamber into the chamber, and an exhaust unit for making the prescribed amount of air continuously flow out from the inside of the housing chamber to the outside.
